Glimpse from the Globe

Glimpse from the Globe is a student-run outlet dedicated to providing timely and timeless content on international affairs. Established in 2013, the founding Glimpse leadership identified the need to more prominently feature sophisticated and culturally engaging international affairs content produced by students at the University of Southern California. In the time since, Glimpse has expanded to feature work from contributors around the globe. The content, which in form and function reflects the diversity of Glimpse’s contributing authors, seeks to highlight the pressing issues of our time. Moving beyond the news, all the work featured on Glimpse from the Globe provides an added level of analytical depth that challenges us all to think again. It is in this spirit that Glimpse welcomes submissions from any author – on any topic – where the watermark of intellectual discourse is clearly elevated. We recognize that opinions change as knowledge accumulates; yet, it remains a fundamental truth that all original ideas deserve a place in the sun. It is in this spirit that we, the Glimpse from the Globe team, strive to provide timely and timeless content long into the foreseeable future.

Our very own Kshitij Kumar, Jason Tse and Kenneth Lee are correspondants for Glimpse!

USC Southern California International Review

SCIR is a global undergraduate international studies journal published biannually and funded by the School of International Relations at the University of Southern California (USC). Article topics published in the journal range from economic and political issues to cultural and social themes. Founded in 2011, the journal seeks to foster and enhance discussion between theoretical and policy-oriented research regarding significant global issues. Furthermore, SCIR serves as an opportunity for undergraduate students at USC as well as other universities in the region to publish their research and other academic findings thereby publicizing their work to a larger audience. SCIR is managed completely by students and also provides undergraduates valuable experience in the fields of academic editing, publishing, and graphic design.

SCIR is an international journal and welcomes submissions from university students around the United States and the world.

Do you find yourself reading the news and wanting to discuss these issues with other people, but can’t find the right group?

Perhaps you haven’t been able to find the time to catch up on current events and want to find out more about the goings-on in the world?

IRUA creates a place for open discussion of major global events. Every week, we will discuss topics brought up either by the topic leaders or the general body. Debates and discussions are aimed at being constructive and informed, with the end goal of everyone becoming more educated about the subject and interested in the world around us.

This Spring 2015 semester, join us at our weekly meetings on Tuesdays at 7 pm in WPH 201.
